Mvurya’s Victory Upheld!
Written by Disi Mugoa on May 14, 2019
Miss Anne Mwangi Mvurya, the first female chair of the University of Nairobi Student Association (UNSA) continues to rejoice, as her victory was upheld this afternoon. This was after her opponent Mr. Samuel Ayoma, challenged her victory before a special tribunal asking that her victory be nullified on allegations of unfair and not credible elections earlier in April.
Miss Mvurya was elected using the electoral college voting system. She gathered 24 votes.
The current ‘Commander In Chief A. M,’ as she signs her message on Facebook, says on the New Comrades Forum page; “It was a collective win. And in the spirit of comradeship and togetherness, my council extends a hand of collaboration, association and purposeful friendship to our then rivals. We promised to work together and re-live the spirit of comradeship. To the honourable fraternity of comrades, to you I say TWAWEZA!”
We wish Ms. Mvurya the best on this leadership journey.
