MR. AND MISS MOUNT KENYA UNIVERSITY NAIROBI

It was an appreciation of culture, promotion of talent, and an embrace of tradition as Mount Kenya university held its Mr and Miss MKU Nairobi pageant gala on Friday night at the Nairobi National Museum.
Models streamed on the runway with heads held up high looking spic and span donning different attires for different categories ready to be judged by Mr World Kenya 2018 Kula Buri, Mr Multimedia University 2018 and currently Mr Kajiado County and Former Miss tourism Kenya Nyandarua County who is the current Miss Egerton University, Miss Florence.
The event was graced by famous comedian Othuol Othuol as one of the MC’s assisted by MC Okal and MC Josh and performing artist Naiboi.
Students were treated to dance competition, singing, comedy and rap music from their fellow talented students from MKU.
Asked what prompted the inclusion of students to perform at the event the mount Kenya university students association chairman Mr Yusuf Warioba said, ” we wanted to make the event about students, and make them feel appreciated and included, MKU is a university that has students from all over the country and East Africa, especially from South Sudan and that’s why we had the South Sudanese dancers on stage and also the Somali’s performing their dance.”
“We wanted everyone to be represented” he added.
After a tight competition, the winners were finally crowned amid cheers from the audience agreeing that the choices were made right, although others felt a little bit short-changed but then again it was a competition, we could only have one male and one female winner. The winners were crowned as follows.
Miss Mount Kenya University Nairobi 2018 – Tabitha Mueni
Mr. Mount Kenya university Nairobi 2018 – kelvin Mulei.
The event which went on till early in the morning with Naiboi’s performance psyching the students and getting them up on their feet to dance was an organization by MKUSA and fully funded by the university’s administration.
