The first ever-nationwide talent search that seeks to provide music industry hopefuls with a 360 experience and mentorship plan is set to kick off next month.
Supported by Kenya’s biggest hit-maker Eric Musyoka, the talent search is called Bidii Music Talent Search.
“The main unique thing about this talent search is that the team is going to the regions to find the talent. Unlike others that have been done at a
central place in Nairobi. Also, the structure of the artist winnings and what they get is such that, by the time the search comes to an end, the
winners will be players in the music industry,” Pacho Director, Cedric Kadenyi aka CEO said.
Adding, “Our aim is to discover new talent and nurture the talent into the music industry. This we intend to do by helping the new talent create content as well as learn about copyright and music business as a whole. We even have scheduled stage performance training for the winning contestants.”
The initiative will not just be out to look for talent, but also expose the raw talent to the major industry players where they will get to be mentored by the best in the business.
The rotational judges for the talent searches will be industry representatives from radio, TV, print, record labels and other influential entertainment figures, making this a remarkable showcase for the
presentation of our country’s best talent.
Some of the confirmed judges include Justus Ngemu of Ngemu Music, The Kasanga – Hitscore Studios, Eric Musyoka – Decimal Records, John Okidi – KeyD Records, GerishomWalaka -Asaph Records, Totti – KayG Records, Tabu Osusa – Ketebull, Dan Aceda – TAB Studio, Eng WuodFibi – Barikiwa Studios.
“Those who join and register to be part of this will get an experience we never had starting out in the industry – a platform and willing mentors to give you proper guidance on how to navigate, not only the Kenyan music industry but the global music business. These are indeed, different times,” Dan Aceda said.
Cedo also explained, “We will manage the winners throughout the period they are under us until they deliver their albums. This will involve writing songs for some of them and will thereafter engage in marketing of the artists and content through strategic partnerships.”
To register, the talent search contestants need only follow these steps.

Justifying the need to charge for the Bidii Music Talent Search, CEDO said, “We need serious people. The small fee is only intended to deter idlers so that we can focus our effort on auditioning those who are serious.”
The show will hit the road in all major towns in the country.

22nd July – Machakos
5th August – Mombasa
19th August – Meru

The perks of joining the talent search are immeasurable.
There will be eight winners selected and they will each get a dedicated website to promote their music and brand, a music video, a photoshoot with leading photographer and training on how to handle media, stage performance as well as go through a music business certification course.
“The winners will literary hit the road running as they will have their first paid gig when they make and appearance and perform at their album launch event.
This deal is sweetened further when they benefit from the vast international music networks of the mentors by bagging an international distribution agreement deal for their music as well as get signed up with a credible booking agency. All winners will be up for grabs by any record label or producer looking for talent.
The winners will have basic education to understand how to enter into music business deals and will also be able to contact us for more.”

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance. I must say you have done a very good job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very quick for me on Chrome. Excellent Blog!
