Never before in the history of our Nation, Kenya, has the need to be our brother’s keeper been more paramount. Our Nation is bleeding at many levels. People have lost their lives; others have been maimed. Everyone is emotionally drained. Wallets are malnourished and the National cake seems to be just a mirage for the common mwananchi. But why? I ask… can’t our political leaders just realize that too much of ‘I’ is just as poisonous as too much of anything else. But why? I ask… can’t our politicians learn from the immortal words of Malcolm X, that when I is replaced by We, even Illness becomes Wellness!

This is the only country where the old never get to retire, because they are the owners of the state. Millions of educated youths remain unemployed, while our grandparents are being appointed to the top government “youth” jobs even at their dying ages.

This is the only country, where the ordinary citizen is dying of hunger due to high tax rates imposed on ordinary goods and services, while the leaders they elected are jollily passing bills to boost their salaries and allowances.

This is the only country, where justice is only served for the “owners “of the state but ordinary citizens like me and you are faulty sent behind bars or killed and the murders still walk free on our streets just like they have done nothing.
