Man’s greatest lessons lie in suffering, grief, sorrow, sickness and any feeling of discomfort. The world is full of suffering. Without suffering there won’t progress. Our dreams, goals, aims, targets are all achieved after going through suffering. Success is never gained on a silver plater. Even maintaining an inheritance is a way of being out of your comfort zone. We suffer to gain, simply no pain no gain.
Suffering is good if we learn from it.
We need to understand that we only have limited control over what happens to us. How we choose to respond is our power.
“We point to our unhappy circumstances to rationalize our negative feelings. This is the easy way out. It takes, after all, very little effort to feel victimized.” Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. We mostly miss the trick by accepting suffering to be a part of us which is very easy and not acknowledging that it is only a period. Then the complaints and blames sets in which shows our defeat. We complain and blame to gain sympathy. At least that is what we think but what we actually do is allow our fearful ego to take over.
The strength lies in accepting reality. It is finding the opportunities in times of our suffering. It is making our minds our mental fortitude and harvesting the rich experiences gained, makes us go a notch higher to a sunny day.
“To live a life of gratitude is to open our eyes to the countless ways in which we are supported by the world around us. Such a life provides less space for our suffering because our attention is more balanced. We are more often occupied with noticing what we are given. Thanking those who have helped us, and repaying the world in some concrete way for what we are receiving.” Gregg Krech
We can never ask for a better world than what we have. No matter the world we find ourselves we are adequately equipped to be capable of changing our world to a better one. The power is always in our hands.
