Enthralling Action as Moi University Field Marshalls showcase talent despite defeat

National Super League Side; GFE 105 thrashed Moi University school team 4-2 in a thrilling match played at 64 Stadium, Eldoret on Thursday.

The match which ended in a 1-1 draw in the first half, kicked off with both teams securing a fifty percent ball possession in the first quarter. Few minutes later, GFE 105 secured the lead with Mark scoring the opener in the 19th minute from a magnificent cross.

However, GFE’s lead did not last long as Marshalls continued pressing forward with shots from Osuga and Ishmael Mwangi getting saved by GFE’a keeper Sam Munya. The equaliser came in the 39th minute when Muia won a backpass meant for the keeper, and didn’t hesitate to punish the NSL men.

The second half showcased tougher action with both coaches, introducing new faces. GFE’s Coach Joshua Obara brought in a new squad altogether, while Juma Alphonce of Marshalls introducing Ahmed in the defence.

The NSL men were fully energized with back to back counter attacks that blended well with their pacy forwards.

It didn’t take long to punch Marshalls for a second time, after the University men lost possession in the flanks, giving Collo his first goal and second for GFE.

With that , Coach Alphonce introduced Ologi in the midfield and Mohammed in the right wing, a tactic that bore fruits almost immediately.
Ologi’s experience produced an equaliser, passing the ball to Mohammed who run past GFE defenders and scored.

With the match at level, Alphonce introduced Cargo alias OCS in the defence to replace Chege. Communication began fading in the defence yet again with two major mistakes calling for punishment.
