Students at the Eldoret-based Moi University will soon start to benefit from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that the University signed with Cytonn Investments to allow the premier investment firm to offer mentorship and training to students from Moi after they graduate.
According to the MoU details, the programme will enable students from the university to gain the much-needed work experience at the investment firm especially in the fields of ICT, legal, investments, quantity survey, entrepreneurship, economics, HR and real estate.
According to Cytonn Investments’ Company Secretary, Patricia Wanjama, the students selected under the MoU will undergo a 12-week intense training programme that will expose them to the office environment and culture.
“The programme will expose the graduates to challenging career options that are available to them especially in leadership and problem-solving skills,” Wanjama said during the signing of the MoU at Moi University’s main campus on Monday.
According to Moi University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro, the programme will work towards increasing the employability of the institution’s graduates.
“The programme will enable the graduates to be ready for absorption into the job market,” said Prof Ayiro during the signing of the MoU.
Apart from Moi University, Cytonn Investment also partnered with Embu University for a similar programme and is in the process of signing MoUs with six more universities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts in career growth and mentorship.
