The inaugural Sepetuka 7s is underway at Eldoret Sports Club with the first round of matches already played as top seeds KCB were upset by Impala 29-5.
Paul Mutsami scored an unconverted try with Sammy Motari doubling the score with Mark Kwemoi adding the extras before Samuel Motari made it 17-0 at the break.
Samson Onsomu and Ian Mabwa bagged tries for the Sarries to take the score to 29 as Isaac Njoroge scored KCB’s sole try.
Quins and Homeboyz got a winning start beating Mean Machine 26-0 and MKU Thika 29-0 respectively.
Other matches of the day Prinsloo 7s runners-up go down 12-17 to local rivals Menengai Oilers as Mwamba RFC beat Catholic Monks 42-7.
Championship side Western Bulls beat last weekend’s semifinalists Strathmore Leos 14-7.
Speaking during the tournament ,Homeboyz RFC chairman andSepetuka 7s Tournament director commented ,Sepetuka 7s has started on a high note with more expected in the two-day event in Uasin Gishu County.
