The Technical University of Mombasa mourns the sudden violent death of a student last evening. David Mwaura Mwangi was attacked by an armed gang in Kisauni. The late was a student at the Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences, Reg. No BMLS/3950/014G.

The Office of the President through the Chief of Staff, Jamaa Flani,  acknowledged the demise of the student and urged everyone to stay calm as an official press statement from the TUMSA EXECUTIVE is drafted to be communicated today at 1000 HRS.

Musah Kings, the Secretary General of the universities’ student association also notified the students of David’s untimely death asking the students to stay put as directions to the way forward are discussed. Also, he asked the students to turn up in large numbers when asked to and assured them tat TUMSA is ready to use every means possible be it legal, extralegal or paralegal means to ensure that comrade from every corner of Mombasa is secured

The Chairperson, Technical University of Mombasa Students’ Association, Eugine Musungu, wrote in a post; “I find it so obnoxious, ennui and exacerbating of the incident that occured to one of us at Kisauni. Unlearned Haters attacked a comrade, David Mwaura, a finalist and stabbed him to death. Comrades, we are not going to use RIP anymore as a reply to any killing towards us. We must act. Now is the time to make someone feel too much disregard to thinking too much.”

Kisauni has always been notorious for armed gangs terrorizing and even killing residents of the area. According to Intelligence Briefs, the gangs based in Kisauni area of Mombasa have pledged allegiance to the dreaded Wakali Wao and Wakali Kwanza gangs. This has become a matter of national security and if not addressed soon, more people will lose their lives.

We at Campus Radio send our sincerest condolences to the deceased, may the departed comrade rest in peace.
