The Scheduled graduation this week Thursday is rocked with criticism following the missing of 700 students from the graduation list. The High Court in Nairobi on Friday declined a petition seeking to stop the planned Moi University graduation scheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2019, after students moved to court to seek its intervention to be included on the graduation list.
Student leaders have shown their dissatisfaction and are demanding for the resignation of the vice-chancellor if the students are not included in the list. In the latest statement by Pwani University Students’ Association Chair, Fikirini Jacobs said that “Negligence and sincere irresponsibility MUST have no space in the era of Intellectualism. The mess in our Kenyan University management would be better understood in 102 A.D not 20 years into the 21st century. “
In the video released to the public, Fikirini Jacobs went on saying “The 700 Moi University graduands MUST graduate come Thursday. What form of degeneration is this where a person who went through series of painful experience(s) in the academic corridors and ladders to become a Prof, is the bolt of the machine that crushes his grandchildren?”
