Receptionist spends not one but a 160 million shillings on twenty houses. This is the headline that hit us recently. I’m not the only Kenyan asking myself the question “How?” Honestly, how is that possible especially with the current economy? Then you remember, Oh! I’m a Kenyan in Kenya, and this is Kenya, this is our new norm.
We all, us Kenyans have lost count of the numbers of corruption scandals that have hit the country in the last few months, years actually and with all sincerity been proud to be a Kenyan is not one of my favourite statements nor sentiments. That is until the Kenyan athlete team dominated the Singaporean marathon, I have never been more proud of saying “Yes I’m a Kenyan and yes that is our team.
The Kenyan athlete team recently dominated the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, they literally monopolized both men and women’s positions. The men took the first 17 positions. Yes 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17, were Kenyan athletes. It’s amazing because these athletes put Kenya in the history books once more.
Last Sunday a Lady was featured on Churchill show, this said Lady was and is a dancer.H er name is Moesha Kay, she supports over 2000 girls, yes you read right 2000 girls. Her story was extremely touching and teary to a point that Kenyans were able to raise close to 1.4 million shillings in the show.
These are just some of the reasons why am proud to be a Kenyan
This holiday season we thank the Lord for our National athlete team, our DPP Noordin Haji (honestly this guy is working, we can all see that), Moesha Kay (Lady I don’t know how you do it but continue doing it), and to anyone out there I’m yet to mention nor know about, may the good Lord bless you.
