An innovative solution to its prepaid subscribers, Telkom Kenya is offering free On-Net calls at specific areas with no restrictions or need to subscribe.
The service will serve as one of the telco’s commitment to offering more value for its near 4.2 million active subscribers.
“Our customers remain at the heart of what we do and we are glad to offer a stronger value proposition. The introduction of the Telkom Free Zones targets to provide customers with more opportunity to communicate, while at the same time getting to enjoy our network quality,” said Amer Atwi, MD of Telkom’s Mobile Division.
Telkom’s Free Zones have so far in the larger Nyanza region – Kisumu, Siaya, Homabay and South Nyanza. Other Free Zone areas are Machakos, Muranga, Nyahururu, Eldoret, Cherangany and Turbo – with more zones to be announced soon.
“One does not need to subscribe to a specific offer or bundle to enjoy the Telkom Free Zones. Whenever you are in a Telkom Free Zone, all your Telkom-to-Telkom calls will automatically be free,” added Amer Atwi. However, calls made to other networks will attract a KES 3.30 fee per minute.
To find out if they are in a Telkom Free Zone a Telkom customer will need to dial *888#.
