The University of Nairobi management has appealed to students not to participate in any riots politically motivated. Through an email from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs), Isaac Mbeche read that the management had credible intelligence that some individuals have planned to incite University of Nairobi students to riot in support of their political motives.

This comes after a section of student protest the rearrest of former SONU Chair Babu Owino.

“We would like to appeal to the University of Nairobi students’ fraternity to be cautious and remain peaceful.  Students are advised to desist from unruly behaviour and avoid going to the streets to cause chaos.” the email read.

“The University will not hesitate to take firm action against students found disrupting University programmes.”
