The fourth leg of the National Sevens Rugby circuit takes place this weekend when Kenya Cup side Homeboyz RFC hosts the Sepetuka 7s Rugby Festival.
The event themed as a sports, music and family fair will be held at the Eldoret Sports Club kicking off on Saturday, September 30th till Sunday, October 1st. According to Homeboyz RFC chairman Myke Rabar, the Sepetuka 7s Rugby Festival aims to redefine sports entertainment in the country and will attract a cross section of the sporting and fun loving public.
“We are delighted to bring Sepetuka 7s Rugby Festival to Eldoret as part of the National 7s circuit. We urge all Rugby and sports fans to come out in large numbers to chill with friends, enjoy the wonderful grills that will be on offer while partaking of the thrill of world-class Rugby,” said Rabar.
Speaking after signing a sponsorship agreement with Jambojet Limited, who are the tournaments’ official airline partner for Homeboyz RFC, Rabar said the event had so far received sponsorship support to the tune of Kes 7.5 Million.
“This partnership with Homeboyz RFC, the current reigning champions of the National 7s Rugby circuit gives us a great opportunity to connect even closer to the Eldoret community and especially our desired passenger, who perhaps has never flown on an airplane before”, said Judy Waruiru, Head of Sales and Marketing at Jambojet.
Waruiru added that the budget airline plans to expand across the region by introducing new routes in the near future. Jambojet currently operates eighteen flights a week to Eldoret. Other sponsors who have come on board for Sepetuka 7s Rugby Festival include Telkom

Sepetuka 7s Rugby Festival follows the just concluded Prinsloo 7s tournament in Nakuru, this past weekend and which was won by KCB RFC after beating Nakuru RFC 29 – 5. Homeboyz RFC, who are also the reigning champions of the National 7s series are currently leading the standings with 51 points after the 3 rd leg and will be out to cement their lead in Eldoret. Nakuru and Oilers close off the top three with 46 and 43 points respectively.
