Vincent, Edwin, Walter and Kimani were all on the scoresheet, as Sharks gave the Kesses men a high-five on Friday.
SkyLax who topped the provincial league last season, did not manage to get over Sharks at home, with their defence proving porous.
SkyLax who are set to feature in Division Two next seson, conceded the first goal in the thirteenth minute when Kimani of Sharks received a well created assist and went past two defenders, leaving the goalkeeper staggering.
Minutes later, Sharks lost possession of the ball and allowed the Kesses men to get an equalizer in the twentieth minute. Levy scored the important goal after a mistake in the Sharks defence, who took long to clear the dangerous ball. With the match at level, Sharks continued pressing with their forwards, Kimani, Vincent and Johnny all surging upfront in back-to-back counters.
In the 35th minute, Vincent Okinyi who has been instrumental in all Sharks matches, scored the second, shooting from the left flank. The first half came to an halt with Sharks on the lead and referee Kemboi having made no controversial decision by then.
The second half was more enthusiastic, Sharks maintaining their first eleven and SkyLax introducing one new face. Sharks were on the winning edge once again in the 49th minute,with Vincent’s assist to Johnny who scored the third.
In this half, SkyLax were clearly out of the action, with Sharks domineering dangerous counter attacks. It was Edwin Maru who scored the fourth, placing the ball right through the keeper’s legs after a clean assist from Vincent.
The Kesses lads who were now more than demoralized tried making few attempts that were easily saved by Sharks keeper Alfred Ndemo. Furthermore, Sharks coach introduced Ogege in the defence, who blended well with the rest of the back-men.
SkyLax conceded a penalty in the 73rd minute when Vincent Okinyi was fouled in the box, adding to their misery. Walter alias Ronaldo scored the penalty easily placing the ball to the right with SkyLax’s keeper diving to the left.
The man of the match accolade went to Vincent who scored one goal and gave three assists. With a high-five, SkyLax will have to refocus since the Division Two league is kicking off in a week’s time.
