Shem Chedoti was the first to find the net in the full-pitched final, sending his squad into a “sit-down” celebration. Shem converted the well curved shot from Steve into a fine header that left the Egerton goalkeeper meditating. The match went on a no-goal moment after that stunner, the first half ending with West Campus on the lead. The joy was however short lived, a similar header from Egerton’s Brian equalizing for the hosts.

Egerton who seemed to have garnered new energy pressed the yellow dressed men excellently, West’s goalkeeper making incredible saves. Failure to convert the chances into goals saw the match end in a draw, the centre referee overseeing the two teams into a penalty shootout. West’s Evans “Bush” scored the first penalty but his two teammates lost the next penalties. Egerton converted their first three penalties, before they surprisingly lost two consecutive penalties, thanks to West Campus’s goalie. It is the Egerton’s goalkeeper who won the match however, saving Jack’s shot to send the home crowd into a vuvuzela-filled celebration.
